Joins Vikings' taxi squad
The Vikings signed Reyes to the practice squad Wednesday, Kevin Seifert of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Reyes will stick around on the Vikings' taxi squad through the league's International Player Pathway program. He played in 11 regular-season games for Washington in 2021, but he was placed on the reserve/retired list in August of 2023 due to multiple head injuries throughout his career. Reyes signed with the Vikings in May in an attempt to make a comeback, and he'll continue that effort on the team's practice squad.

Gets cut loose
Reyes was waived by the Vikings on Monday, Craig Peters of the team's official site reports.
Analysis: Reyes was working on making a comeback after dealing with multiple head injuries in his short career. Unfortunately, the Tulane product was unable to break through in Minnesota's relatively deep tight-end room. It's unclear whether Reyes will work to find an opportunity elsewhere or consider retirement once again.

Inks deal with Minnesota
The Vikings agreed to terms with Reyes on Monday.
Analysis: Reyes was placed on the reserve/retired list in August 2023 due to an abundance of head injuries throughout his career. However, the 28-year-old tight end has been cleared to play once again and given a new opportunity in Minnesota. Reyes' most recent in-game action came back in 2021 with the Commanders, when he appeared in 11 games and played primarily on special teams (145 snaps). The Vikings picked up Reyes through the NFL's International Player Pathway program, and this signing does not…read more

Deemed healthy
Reyes (concussion), who was waived by the Jaguars on Monday, has been given a clean bill of health, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Analysis: Reyes retired from football last August after he entered the concussion protocol while participating in training camp with the Jaguars. Now healthy, Reyes will look to resume his career and find an opportunity on another organization's offseason roster.

Steps away from game
Reyes (concussion) was placed on the reserve/retired list Sunday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Analysis: Reyes was in the league's concussion protocols at the time of the announcement. This is not the 27-year-old's first instance dealing with a head injury in his career either, which may have led to his decision. He'll now focus on getting healthy, and if he decides to return to the game, the Jaguars will maintain his rights.

Won't play Saturday
Reyes (concussion) has been ruled out for Saturday's preseason contest against the Cowboys, Demetrius Harvey of The Florida Times-Union reports.
Analysis: Reyes recently landed in concussion protocols, so it's not surprising to see him ruled out. It's unclear when he'll be able to return, but his next chance to suit up in a game will arrive next Saturday in Detroit, though he'll presumably have to return to practice before then.

Dealing with head injury
Reyes is not practicing Thursday due to being in the league's concussion protocols, Demetrius Harvey of The Florida Times-Union reports.
Analysis: It's not clear when Reyes suffered the concussion, but the 27-year-old was not seen on the field Thursday. He'll need to pass through the league's protocols before he can return to practice and continue working to earn a role in the team's tight-end corps this season.

Heading to Chicago's practice squad
The Bears signed Reyes to their practice squad Tuesday, Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune reports.
Analysis: Reyes was given the opportunity to join Chicago's practice squad Tuesday, after he recently completed a successful workout for the team, per Biggs. The 6-foot-5, 260-pounder suited up for 11 games in 2021 with Washington, but he ultimately failed to record any statistics in that span. He'll now serve as an emergency depth option should any of the Bears' tight ends miss time.

Works out in Indy
The Colts brought in Reyes (undisclosed) for a workout Monday, Aaron Wilson of ProFootballNetwork.com reports.
Analysis: Reyes looks to be healthy again after being waived with an injury settlement from the Commanders' injured reserve in August. The tight end played 144 of his 177 total snaps on special teams over 11 games during his rookie campaign with Washington last year, and he could likely serve as a potential depth option on Indianapolis' practice squad this season.

Reaches settlement
Reyes (undisclosed) was waived with an injury settlement Tuesday, JP Finlay of NBC Sports Washington reports.
Analysis: Reyes appeared in 11 games with the Commanders last season, mostly chipping in on special teams, but he failed to record any stats. Once he is healthy he'll be free to pursue opportunities with a new team.

Placed on IR
The Commanders placed Reyes (undisclosed) on injured reserve Tuesday.
Analysis: Reyes had been dealing with a hamstring injury ahead of training camp but appeared to have cleared the issue, so it's unclear what his current injury is. Regardless, it must be severe as he'll miss the remainder of the 2022 campaign while on IR.

Returns to practice field
Reyes (hamstring) participated in individual drills Wednesday, Matthew Paras of The Washington Times reports.
Analysis: It's a promising sign for Reyes after he sat out drills this offseason as he dealt with soreness in his leg. What's less promising for him is that the Commanders added another tight end, Cole Turner, in the fifth round of this year's draft. Reyes has yet to see an NFL target and will have to impress to make the roster in 2022.

Sits out offseason program
Reyes (hamstring) didn't participate in Washington's practices this offseason while dealing with leg discomfort, Ben Standig of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Reyes dealt with a variety of injuries during his rookie campaign with Washington in 2021, and he was ultimately sidelined with a hamstring injury in the team's regular-season finale. It's not clear if the same injury is what caused him to miss the entirety of the team's offseason program, but he'll likely need more recovery time heading into training camp.

Downgraded to out
Washington has ruled Reyes (hamstring) out of its regular-season finale versus the Giants.
Analysis: Reyes was originally given a questionable designation but will ultimately not be given a green light. His 2021 campaign will now come to an end. The league's first Chilean-born player will now set his sights on the 2022 offseason.

Questionable Week 18
Reyes (hamstring) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Giants, Sam Fortier of The Washington Post reports.
Analysis: Reyes was added to the injury report Thursday with the hamstring issue, and his availability for the season finale remains up in the air. He'll likely serve as Washington's No. 2 tight end if available since Ricky Seals-Jones (concussion) has already been ruled out.

Absent from injury report
Reyes (concussion/illness) isn't listed on Wednesday's injury report.
Analysis: Reyes was activated from the reserve/COVID-19 list before Tuesday's matchup with the Eagles but didn't play due to the concussion, but he's now apparently clear of the concussion protocols. Now that he's healthy, he should work as Washington's No. 3 tight end behind Ricky Seals-Jones and John Bates.

Activated, but won't play Tuesday
Washington activated Reyes (illness, concussion) from the reserve/COVID-19 list and ruled him out for Tuesday's game against the Eagles with a concussion.
Analysis: Though he was one of three players to clear the NFL's COVID-19 protocol hours before Tuesday's 7 p.m. ET kickoff, Reyes won't be available after suffering a concussion in the Week 14 loss to the Cowboys. Before going on the reserve/COVID-19 list, Reyes wasn't able to practice in any fashion, so he'll first need to get back on the field in some capacity and gain clearance from an independent neurologist before getting the green light to play. With Reyes out, fullback Alex Armah will be available…read more

Placed on COVID-19 list
Reyes was placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list Wednesday.
Analysis: Reyes was just one of a handful of Washington players to land in the NFL's COVID-19 protocols Wednesday. If the backup tight end isn't cleared before Sunday's matchup with the Eagles, then Ricky Seals-Jones and John Bates would be the only healthy tight ends on Washington's roster.

Suffers injury
Reyes (concussion) is out for the rest of the game Sunday against Dallas.
Analysis: Reyes was operating as the third-man on Washington's tight end depth chart. His absence will likely lead to more work for Ricky Seals-Jones' backup, John Bates.

Will play Sunday
Reyes (hip) is active Sunday against the Buccaneers.
Analysis: Reyes has played a part on special teams with Logan Thomas (hamstring) on injured reserve, and he's projected to primarily continue in that role versus Tampa Bay.

Questionable for Sunday
Reyes (hip) is listed as questionable for Washington's Week 10 contest against the Buccaneers, John Keim of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Reyes has played a minimal role for Washington's offense all season, but the tight end has logged some special-teams snaps throughout the year. With Logan Thomas (hamstring) nearing a return off Washington's injured reserve, Reyes' role could continue to keep shrinking.

Active against Chiefs
Reyes (back) is active for Sunday's game against Kansas City.
Analysis: Reyes played just four special-teams snaps last week, and while he's active again Sunday, he is not expected to be a contributor on offense. The Chilean rookie has yet to play an offensive snap in the current campaign.

Questionable for Week 6
Reyes (back) is listed as questionable for Week 6 against the Chiefs, Nicki Jhabvala of The Washington Post reports.
Analysis: Reyes made his 2021 debut last week and played just four special-teams snaps. However, he appears to have picked up a back injury and may be sidelined once again. His absence wouldn't have an affect on Washington's offensive rotations.

Could debut Week 5
Coach Ron Rivera said Reyes may see the field Sunday against the Saints, Nicki Jhabvala of The Washington Post reports.
Analysis: The rookie UDFA hasn't played through the first four games of the season, but he could be active Week 5 with Logan Thomas (hamstring) potentially sidelined. Reyes is unlikely to offer much fantasy value and figures to fill a reserve role at tight end.

Returns to practice
Reyes (concussion) was able to practice Monday, JP Finlay of NBC Sports Washington reports.
Analysis: Reyes entered the concussion protocol last week, but he has managed to clear it. While the tight end out of Tulane is a long shot to make Washington's roster, Reyes will likely have an opportunity to make a final push for a spot in Saturday's preseason finale against Baltimore.

Enters concussion protocol
Coach Ron Rivera said Wednesday that Reyes has entered the concussion protocol, Sam Fortier of The Washington Post reports.
Analysis: Reyes dealt with a knee injury earlier in camp but returned to the field Aug. 8. However, he'll now have several steps to clear before he passes through the league's concussion protocols. It's unlikely that he'll be available for Friday's preseason game against the Bengals, and his second absence will limit his opportunities as he competes for a spot on the 53-man roster.
