Won't play Week 8
Sims (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Colts.
Analysis: Sims wasn't able to play in Week 7 due to a back injury. He returned to practice this week and was able to participate without restrictions, but he will remain on the sidelines as a healthy scratch for Sunday's contest. Smith's next chance to suit up will be Thursday night against the Jets.

Logs full practice Thursday
Sims (back) was a full practice participant Thursday.
Analysis: Sims was unable to play in Week 7 against the Packers due to a back injury. He was held out of practice Wednesday, but he was able to practice without restrictions Thursday. Unless he suffers a setback, Sims should be good to go for Sunday's AFC South clash against Indianapolis. Sims has logged 89 kick-return yards and 56 punt-return yards across five regular-season games this year.

Opens week as DNP
Sims (back) was listed as a DNP on Wednesday's injury report.
Analysis: Sims suffered a back injury in the leadup to the Texans' Week 7 game against the Packers, which was severe enough for him to be sidelined. He'll have two more chances to practice in some capacity this week ahead of Houston's Week 8 AFC South clash against Indianapolis on Sunday.

Won't travel to Green Bay
Sims (back) has been downgraded from questionable to out ahead of Sunday's game against the Packers.
Analysis: Sims was a late addition to the Texans' injury report Friday due to a back issue. While he was initially listed as questionable, the injury is severe enough that Sims will not travel with the team to Green Bay, and his next chance at suiting up will be Week 8 against the Colts on Oct. 27. With Robert Woods (foot) also not playing Sunday, Dameon Pierce and Tank Dell are the likely candidates to serve kickoff and punt-return duties, respectively.

Dealing with back issue
Sims (back) is listed as questionable ahead of Sunday's matchup against the Packers.
Analysis: Sims popped up on the Texans' injury report Friday as a non-participant in practice due to a back issue, which has put his availability for Week 7 in question. If the Kansas product is unable to play through injury Sunday, expect John Metchie to see increased work in Houston's wide-receiver corps, while Dameon Pierce and Tank Dell could be called on for kickoff return- and punt-return duties, respectively.

Healthy scratch
Sims (coach's decision) is inactive Sunday against the Bills.
Analysis: Sims had been operating as the Texans' return man but may have lost the job after a muffed punt last Sunday against the Jaguars. He finished the Week 4 matchup in the role, but he clearly won't handle it in Week 5. Tank Dell and Robert Woods are the most likely candidates to take over return duties for Houston.

Muffed punt leads to points
Sims wasn't targeted over two offensive snaps, returned two punts for 10 yards and muffed a punt in Sunday's 24-20 win over Jacksonville.
Analysis: After the Jaguars' initial drive of the game stalled, Sims had the mishap on a punt return, putting the visitors in business at Houston's two-yard line. From there, Trevor Lawrence found rookie Brian Thomas in the end zone for an early 7-0 lead. Sims has operated as the Texans' primary returner of punts and also handles kickoffs as well. That he was back returning kicks following the miscue suggests his return role still is intact. Sims also played on offense for first time in four games, as…read more

Makes 53-man roster
Sims made the Texans' initial 53-man roster Tuesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Analysis: Sims was one of seven wide receivers to claim a roster spot, and his ability to contribute as a return man in the main reason. The 27-year-old, who returned a punt 67 yards for a touchdown during last season's playoff loss to the Ravens, averaged 12.3 yards on four punt returns and 23.7 yards on three kick returns in 2023.

Re-signing with Houston
Sims agreed Wednesday to re-sign with the Texans, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Analysis: In three regular-season appearance and one postseason game with the Texans in 2023, Sims caught three passes for 25 yards and ran once for one yard. He also served as a return man on punts and kickoffs, and his continued success in that capacity during the Texans' offseason program and the preseason will likely represent his best path to winning a roster spot with Houston to begin the 2024 season.

Diagnosed with concussion
Sims suffered a concussion in Saturday's divisional-round loss to Baltimore, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Analysis: Sims scored the only touchdown of the game for Houston, returning a punt 67 yards for a score in the second quarter. He didn't record any targets in the passing game, however, and suffered a concussion during the contest. With the Texans eliminated from the postseason, Sims will look to get well as he heads into the offseason as a free agent.

Signed from Texans' practice squad
Sims was signed to the Texans' active roster Tuesday.
Analysis: Sims had been on Houston's practice squad, but he has become a full-fledged member of the team ahead of Saturday's divisional round game against the Ravens. The former Washington and Pittsburgh wide receiver appeared in three games for the Texans during the regular season. Sims could see some opportunities on offense with Noah Brown (shoulder) on IR, but he's likely to be deployed primarily as a return man on special teams.

Sims reverted to the Texans' practice squad Monday.
Analysis: Sims was elevated to the active roster ahead of the team's Week 15 overtime win over the Titans, operating mostly as a special-teams option. He turned three kick returns into 71 yards while also returning two punts for 33 yards. Sims also played seven offensive snaps, catching one pass for no gain and gaining a yard on his only carry. Elevated for Week 15
The Texans elevated Sims from the practice squad Saturday.
Analysis: This is Sims' first elevation since Week 12, but it's his third overall this season, meaning Houston will need to sign him to the active roster in order for him to suit up for the team after Week 15. In his two contests so far this season, the fifth-year wideout has tallied two catches on two targets for 25 yards. Sims could see more opportunity than usual Sunday if Nico Collins (calf) and/or Noah Brown (knee) aren't able to suit up.

Reverts to practice squad
Sims reverted to Houston's practice squad Monday.
Analysis: Sims saw playing time on both offense and special teams Sunday and recorded a fair catch his lone punt-return opportunity. The Texans elevated Sims to the active roster Saturday.
Analysis: This is the second time this season that Sims has been elevated. Two targets in win
Sims caught both of his targets for 25 yards and returned two punts for 16 yards in Sunday's 21-16 win over Arizona in Week 11.
Analysis: Sims made his season debut for the Texans, who were without Noah Brown (knee) , and was targeted on both his offensive snaps. He was one of six active wide receivers, as Houston dressed just two tight ends. Sims, who had one of six C.J. Stroud pass completions that went for more than 20 yards, would need several injuries to move into a position where he could be a fantasy contributor.

The Texans elevated Sims to their active roster Saturday, Jonathan M. Alexander of the Houston Chronicle reports.
Analysis: With Noah Brown (knee) listed as questionable for Sunday's contest, Sims was likely added to Houston's active roster to ensure depth at wide receiver. The 26-year-old wideout most recently played with the Steelers in 2022, recording 14 catches for 104 yards in 12 appearances.

Sims was cut by the Texans on Tuesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.

The Texans are signing Sims to a contract Friday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Analysis: Sims will join Houston after spending the last two seasons with the Steelers, bursting onto the scene as Pittsburgh's return specialist in 2022. The Steelers didn't tender an offer to Sims as a restricted free agent Wednesday, Alan Saunders of PittsburghSportsNow.com reports.
Analysis: Sims played 284 offensive snaps last season, seeing his role grow following the Chase Claypool trade, but he finished the year with just 14 catches for 104 scoreless yards. He'll look to compete for a job on some other team's roster this summer.

Racks up 16 yards in win
Sims rushed once for 16 yards during the Steelers' 28-14 win over the Browns on Sunday.
Analysis: Sims played at least 34 percent of the Steelers' offensive snaps in each of the final nine games of the season, but he saw inconsistent touches and wasn't a reliable fantasy option. Over 12 appearances, he secured 14 of 23 targets for 104 yards while rushing 13 times for 70 yards. Tallies 34 receiving yards
Sims secured three of four targets for 34 yards during the Steelers' 16-13 win over the Ravens on Sunday.
Analysis: Sims matched his highest target total of the season during Sunday's primetime matchup, and he racked up a season-high 34 yards, highlighted by a 28-yard reception late in the fourth quarter. Although the 25-year-old's production has remained inconsistent, he's now had double-digit yards from scrimmage over the last five games, and he's secured nine of 13 targets for 81 yards while rushing six times for 39 yards during that time.

Logs 29 yards from scrimmage
Sims secured one of two targets for 10 yards while rushing twice for 19 yards during the Steelers' 24-16 win over Carolina on Sunday.
Analysis: Sims totaled 31 yards during last week's loss to the Ravens and fell just short of that mark against the Panthers, but it was still encouraging to see him slightly more involved in Pittsburgh's offense. He's played at least 43 percent of the team's offensive snaps in three of the last five weeks but remains a lackluster fantasy option at this point.

Tallies four receptions in Week 14
Sims secured all four of his targets for 30 yards while rushing once for one yard during the Steelers' 16-14 loss to Baltimore on Sunday.
Analysis: Sims had three carries during last week's win over Atlanta, and he logged a season-high five touches during Sunday's narrow loss while also playing a season-high 47 percent of the Steelers' offensive snaps. While it's been encouraging to see Sims' playing time increase over the last few weeks, he hasn't been consistent enough to warrant fantasy consideration in most formats.

Logs three carries in win
Sims rushed three times for 19 yards while failing to secure either of his two targets during the Steelers' 19-16 win over Atlanta on Sunday.
Analysis: Sims averaged a team-high 6.3 yards per carry during Sunday's matchup, but he didn't have enough volume to provide much fantasy value. He's played at least 34 percent of the snaps in the four games following Pittsburgh's Week 9 bye but has had limited touches, as he's secured just three of nine targets for 24 yards while rushing six times for 18 yards during that time.

Offering little sans Claypool
Sims was targeted three times and recorded two catches for nine yards in Monday's 24-17 win over the Colts.
Analysis: Even though the Nov. 1 trade that sent Chase Claypool to the Bears has opened up more work for Sims, he's still had to split the No. 3 receiver role with Gunner Olszewski, while Diontae Johnson and George Pickens have been every-down players. In the three games since the Claypool trade, Sims has produced a modest 3-24-0 receiving line on seven targets.

Likely in line for increased role
Sims will likely have more opportunities to pick up snaps out of the slot going forward after Chase Claypool was traded to the Bears on Tuesday, Brooke Pryor of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Sims drew a season-high three targets during Sunday's loss to the Eagles but managed minus-1 yard on two receptions while rushing twice for 21 yards. He's mainly returned kicks for the Steelers when available early in the season, but head coach Mike Tomlin said Wednesday that Sims should see additional work on offense after Claypool was traded. Records 20 yards on four touches
Sims caught two of his three targets for minus-1 yard and rushed for 21 yards on two carries in Sunday's 35-13 loss to the Eagles.
Analysis: Sims was on the field for 14 of the Steelers' 76 snaps on offense, narrowly outpacing Miles Boykin (11) for fourth among Pittsburgh's receivers. Both Sims and Boykin are likely to see their opportunities expand beginning with the Steelers' Week 9 game against the Saints, after Chase Claypool was traded to the Bears. Sims (hamstring) was a full practice participant Thursday, Brooke Pryor of ESPN.com reports.

Sims (hamstring) was a limited participant during Wednesday's practice, Teresa Varley of the Steelers' official website reports.
Analysis: Sims was sidelined for the team's Week 7 loss to Miami due to a hamstring injury he picked up a week prior. The team then released him Monday, having vastly improved its wideout depth in the offseason. Sims latched on as an undrafted rookie in 2019 and finished out his rookie campaign with 240 yards and four TDs over the final four weeks, but he was either mediocre or injured for most of 2020, sliding down the depth chart after starting the first two games. The team even experimented with giving him more snaps on the perimeter at the beginning of the season, but Sims moved back to the slot after a toe injury sent him to IR for Weeks 4-8. He then averaged just 3.2 targets and 18.0 receiving yards over his final nine games of the regular season, before catching three passes for 33 yards and a TD in the playoff loss…read more

Targeted six times
Sims caught four of six targets for 52 yards in Sunday's 20-13 loss to Carolina.
Analysis: Sims handled a larger-than-usual role with Terry McLaurin (ankle) inactive, but it was Cam Sims who led the team's wideouts with nine targets. Any fantasy upside for Steven in Week 17 depends on McLaurin missing another game, which won't necessarily happen.

Pulls down one pass
Sims secured one of two targets for 11 yards during Sunday's 20-15 loss to the Seahawks.
Analysis: The Kansas product has collected exactly one reception in three of his past four outings. Sims' only multi-catch performance in that span, Week 13 against Pittsburgh, yielded just 17 yards. Terry McLaurin (12 targets) and Cam Sims (eight) were the wideouts most involved in Washington's passing game against Seattle, while Steven (no relation) finished tied in a distant third in targets alongside Isaiah Wright. With nearly as many punt returns (21) as receptions (22) this season, Sims has a…read more

Catches one pass
Sims caught one of three targets for five yards in Sunday's 23-15 win over the 49ers.
Analysis: Cam Sims and Terry McLaurin both played more than 90 percent of snaps, while Steven Sims got 37 percent and Isaiah Wright took 27 percent . None of the bunch had more than two catches or 24 yards, as Alex Smith (calf) and Dwayne Haskins both struggled to get anything going. Washington won the game behind two defensive touchdowns, a formula that probably won't work in Week 15 against Seattle. Pulls down four passes in upset
Sims secured four of six targets for 17 yards during Monday's 23-17 win against the Steelers. He also posted a nine-yard punt return.
Analysis: Sims may have been held under 20 receiving yards for a third consecutive appearance, but his nine-yard third-down catch on Washington's opening drive of the second half helped situate the team for a touchdown that brought it within four points. Since returning from a toe injury Week 9, the 23-year-old has posted 2.8 receptions and 17.6 receiving yards per game with one TD over five appearances. Sims' six targets Monday tied a season high as he heads into a Week 14 matchup against San Francisco.

Posts one catch on Thanksgiving
Sims reeled in his lone target for an eight-yard gain during Thursday's 41-16 win over the Cowboys. He added 15 yards on a pair of punt returns.
Analysis: Sims secured his first touchdown of the 2020 campaign in Week 11 against Cincinnati, but it was a forgettable outing on Thanksgiving for the 23-year-old. He's been back in the lineup for four games after sitting out four contests with a toe injury between Weeks 4 and 7. The Kansas product has accumulated an efficient 10 receptions for 71 yards and a touchdown on 11 targets since his return from IR, as he now sets his sights on a Week 13 matchup against the Steelers' second-ranked pass defense.

Finds end zone
Sims caught each of his three targets for 13 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 20-9 win over Cincinnati.
Analysis: The touchdown was Sims' first of the season, but he played only 32 percent of offensive snaps, his third straight week below 50 percent since he returned from injured reserve. With Terry McLaurin and Cam Sims working as the starters in recent weeks, the remaining WR snaps have been split between Steven Sims, J.D. McKissic and Isaiah Wright. Things could become even more crowded if Dontrelle Inman (hamstring) makes it back for Thursday's game against Dallas.

Five catches in loss to Lions
Sims corralled five of six targets for 46 receiving yards during Sunday's 30-27 loss to Detroit.
Analysis: Sims fumbled on Washington's penultimate drive of the first half, but teammate Cam Sims was able to fall on the loose ball. Week 10 marked Steven's second appearance back from a toe injury that cost him four games, with his impact being much greater Sunday compared to his one-catch, four-yard output in Week 9 against the Giants. Next, Sims will face a Bengals defense that is tied for the third-most receiving touchdowns allowed to opposing wideouts on the season (13).

Barely plays on offense
Sims caught his lone target for a four-yard gain in Sunday's 23-20 loss to the Giants.
Analysis: After missing four straight games with a toe injury, Sims returned for Week 9 but played only 30 percent of the snaps on offense. He also had one punt return for 12 yards, while Danny Johnson handled the kick returns. It's possible Sims gets more work Week 10 at Detroit, but we haven't seen him in a significant role since mid-September.

Set to come off IR
Sims (toe) will be activated off injured reserve ahead of Sunday's game, John Keim of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: The return of Sims couldn't come at a better time for the Washington passing attack considering Dontrelle Inman (hamstring) is listed as doubtful for Sunday's game, and Isaiah Wright has done little with the increased opportunities. Terry McLaurin still looms large as the team's true No. 1 option, but expect Sims to slot in right away, at least in three wide-receiver sets.

Looks ready to play
Sims (toe) appears likely to return from injured reserve ahead of Sunday's game against the Giants, as he's been a full practice participant throughout the week, Kyle Stackpole of Washington's official site reports.
Analysis: Coach Ron Rivera hasn't commented on the situation, but all other signs point to Sims being ready to play. Sims was a starter back in Weeks 1 and 2, but he came off the bench Week 3 and was placed on IR in early October. He could be reinstated to a starting job now that he's healthy, considering Dontrelle Inman (doubtful, hamstring) and Isaiah Wright haven't exactly set the world on fire.

Looks good at practice
Sims (toe) appeared to be a full participant in Wednesday's practice, Kyle Stackpole of Washington's official site reports.
Analysis: Sims currently resides on injured reserve, which means the team won't list him on its daily practice reports this week. Based on Stackpole's report though, Sims appears to at least have a shot at playing in Sunday's game against the Giants. Dontrelle Inman and Isaiah Wright (shoulder) got most of the wideout snaps and targets behind Terry McLaurin over the past month while Sims was out, so there is a clear opening for him to reclaim a top-three role.

Sims (toe) is slated to practice Wednesday, Nicki Jhabvala of The Washington Post reports.
Analysis: Sims, who hasn't played since Week 3, remains on injured reserve, but now that he's back at practice, Washington will have up to 21 days to activate the wide receiver. Prior to suffering his injury, the 23-year-old recorded six catches (on eight targets) for 103 yards in three games.

Poised for some work Wednesday
Sims (toe) may do some "running around" Wednesday, John Keim of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: It's unclear if Sims will take part in practice, or merely work out on the side, but he is eligible to be activated from IR this week, per Nicki Jhabvala of The Washington Post. If Sims does practice, Washington will open a 21-day window in which to bring him back to the active roster. He hasn't played since Week 3 due to a toe injury, but when he returns he'll be on the receiving end of passes from Kyle Allen and not Dwayne Haskins.

Lands on injured reserve
Washington placed Sims (toe) on injured reserve Friday.
Analysis: The 23-year-old has been unable to practice since attempting to play through the toe injury Week 3. The move to IR will prevent Sims playing in any of Washington's next three games, making him ineligible to suit up again until at least Nov. 8 against the Giants. While Sims is sidelined, Dontrelle Inman (foot) should continue to work as Washington's No. 2 wideout, with Isaiah Wright the next man up.

Sims (toe) didn't practice Thursday, Nicki Jhabvala of The Washington Post reports.
Analysis: Meanwhile, fellow wide receivers Terry McLaurin (thigh) and Dontrelle Inman (foot) did what Sims could not: follow up a DNP on Wednesday with a limited session Thursday. Considering Sims hasn't practiced since Week 3, he appears to be in a tough spot ahead of Sunday's game versus the Rams. Friday's injury report may provide some clarity with his situation.

Sims (toe) was a non-participant at Wednesday's practice, Nicki Jhabvala of The Washington Post reports.
Analysis: Washington's top three wide receivers -- Sims, Terry McLaurin (thigh) and Dontrelle Inman (foot) -- all sat out Wednesday as the team prepares for a change at quarterback from Dwayne Haskins to Kyle Allen. Sims hasn't played since Week 3, so his practice status Thursday and Friday likely will be key to his potential to play Sunday against the Rams.

Won't play Sunday
Sims (toe) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against Baltimore, Kyle Stackpole of Washington's official site reports.
Analysis: Sims tried to play through the toe injury last week but was limited to a season-low 36 percent snap share and zero targets in a 34-20 loss to the Browns. He hasn't practiced at all since that game, so it isn't clear he'll be back for Week 5 against the Rams. Sims (toe) wasn't seen at practice Friday, Sam Fortier of The Washington Post reports.
Analysis: The 23-year-old has yet to practice this week and appears unlikely to be available for Sunday's game against the Ravens. Friday's injury report should shed more light on Sims' availability, but he appears to be trending in the wrong direction heading into the weekend. Top-wideout Terry McLaurin (thigh) also is limited, which could open up opportunities for Dontrelle Inman and Isaiah Wright.

Sims (toe) won't participate in Thursday's practice, Ben Standig of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: With back-to-back absences at practice to begin Week 4, Sims looks to be trending in the wrong direction as Sunday's game against the Ravens nears. He'll likely need to turn in at least a limited showing in Friday's practice to take a questionable designation into the weekend. Sims' production has been relatively muted through Washington's first three games, with the wideout hauling in six of seven targets for 103 yards.

Absent from practice
Sims (toe) didn't practice Wednesday, Kyle Stackpole of Washington's official site reports.
Analysis: Sims played through the injury in Sunday's 34-20 loss to Cleveland and handled his usual work in the return game, but his snap share on offense plummeted to 35 percent, way down from 83 and 91 percent over the first two weeks. The 23-year-old could bounce back into a larger role Week 4 against Baltimore, especially if fellow wide receiver Dontrelle Inman (wrist) isn't available. Inman also missed practice Wednesday.

Sims didn't draw any targets in Sunday's 34-20 loss to Cleveland, playing only 35 percent of snaps on offense and returning three kicks for 23 yards.
Analysis: Sims was listed as questionable with a toe injury, and while he was deemed healthy enough for his usual role in the return game, Isaiah Wright stepped up to take a bunch of his playing time on offense, catching four of six targets for 24 yards while handling 45 percent snap share. Good to go against CLE
Sims (toe) is active Week 3 against the Browns.
Analysis: Sims steadily upgraded his practice status throughout the week, so it's not too surprising to see him out on the field for the road matchup against Cleveland. He'll likely resume his regular role as the No. 2 wideout, as well as serve as the primary kick return option. It's a small sample size of just two games, but Sims will be going up against a Browns defense that has given up the seventh-most fantasy points per game to opposing wide receivers.

Sims (toe) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game in Cleveland, Kyle Stackpole of Washington's official site reports.
Analysis: Sims upgraded his practice participation throughout the week, going from absent (Wednesday) to limited (Thursday) to full (Friday). He should be out there Sunday as Washington's No. 2 receiver, but fantasy managers will want to make sure when the team releases its inactive list around 11:30 a.m. ET on Sunday. Gets 'limited' tag Thursday
Sims (toe) was listed as limited on Thursday's injury report, Rhiannon Walker of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Washington held Sims out of Wednesday's practice due to a toe injury, so his elevation to some work Thursday is a step in the right direction as the team prepares for Sunday's game at Cleveland. So far this season, he's a close second in offensive snap share (86.8 percent) behind No. 1 wide receiver Terry McLaurin (93.4). That said, Sims has accounted for just six catches (on seven targets) for 103 yards and no touchdowns through two games.

Dealing with toe injury
Sims isn't practicing Wednesday due to a toe injury, Kyle Stackpole of Washington's official site reports.
Analysis: Sims played 91 percent of offensive snaps in Sunday's 30-15 loss to the Cardinals, catching three of five targets for 53 yards while losing a fumble on a punt return. His usage in that game suggests the toe injury isn't serious, or else he suffered it at the very end of the game. A return to practice Thursday would put Sims on track to suit up Sunday in Cleveland.

Gets five targets, fumbles punt
Sims caught three of five targets for 53 yards in a 30-15 loss to the Cardinals on Sunday.
Analysis: The usage was a bit more promising than the stat line suggests, as both incompletions were on downfield throws and Sims also had two would-be targets wiped out by defensive penalties. On a less promising note, he lost a fumble on a punt return, setting up the Cardinals for a 14-point lead early in the game. Sims played 91 percent of snaps on offense, in addition to handling both punt and kick returns. He appears locked in as Washington's No. 2 receiver ahead of a Week 3 trip to Cleveland.

Plays 83 percent of snaps
Sims caught each of his three targets for 50 yards in Sunday's 27-17 win over the Eagles, playing 83 percent of snaps on offense.
Analysis: Sims also took five punt returns for 17 yards and lined up as the deep man for kickoffs (all of which were touchbacks). His target total may have been disappointing, but the playing time and efficiency suggests he's the clear No. 2 receiver behind Terry McLaurin. Meanwhile, Dontrelle Inman caught two of five targets for 21 yards, handling 51 percent snap share.

Starting at WR, KR, PR
Sims is listed as a starter at wide receiver, kick returner and punt returner on Washington's initial 2020 depth chart.
Analysis: It sounds like the second-year pro will be busy in a Week 1 matchup with the Eagles. After putting up 259 receiving yards and four touchdowns over the final month of his rookie campaign, Sims never faced a serious challenge for a starting job in 2020, with reports out of training camp suggesting he could even see more snaps on the perimeter this year. Analysis: Listed at 5-foot-10 and 176 pounds, Sims operated as a slot specialist last year, coming on strong at the end of his rookie campaign with 230 yards and four scores over the final four weeks. He's undersized even by slot standards, but he flashed some speed on a 65-yard touchdown run and a 91-yard kick return. Facing competition for slot snaps
Sims will be joined by 2020 draft picks Antonio Gibson (third round) and Antonio Gandy-Golden (fourth round) in the Washington offense, John Keim of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Gibson, in particular, could emerge as a threat to Sims, who went undrafted out of Kansas last year but emerged as a slot regular by the end of his rookie season. Gibson offers similar speed (4.39 40) in a much larger body (6-0, 228), and he split time between the slot and backfield at Memphis. Sims caught six of 10 targets for 64 yards and two touchdowns during Sunday's 41-35 loss to the Giants. He also carried two times for nine yards.
Analysis: Sims led the team in targets while adding receiving touchdowns in the first and third quarters. He hadn't received more than four targets in any game prior to Week 14, but he's been thrown to 28 times over the last three weeks while hauling in 15 of those targets and scoring three touchdowns. Sims caught five of 11 targets for 45 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 37-27 loss to Philadelphia.
Analysis: Sims scored his first career receiving touchdown from five yards out in the second quarter, but he also had a critical drop on a deep ball with the game tied in the fourth. The Redskins challenged the play for possible defensive pass interference, but their challenge came up empty. Analysis: Sims drew the start for Trey Quinn (concussion) in Sunday's contest and finished second on the team in receptions and receiving yards. Analysis: Sims filled in after Quinn suffered the concussion early in last week's 29-21 win over the Panthers, ultimately catching three of four targets for 29 yards while playing 58 percent of the offensive snaps. The undrafted rookie isn't a great bet for more than three or four targets, but he has shown some explosiveness with a 65-yard rushing touchdown (Week 5) and a 91-yard kick return score (Week 12). Fills in for injured Quinn
Sims caught three of four targets for 29 yards in Sunday's 29-21 win over the Panthers.
Analysis: The undrafted rookie played a season-high 58 percent of snaps on offense, filling in as the No. 3 receiver after Trey Quinn suffered a concussion in the first half. Sims had a kick return touchdown the previous week and a 65-yard rushing score earlier in the year, so any contributions he makes as a pass catcher might be seen as a bonus. Sims caught his only target for a 12-yard gain during Sunday's 24-9 loss to Buffalo.
Analysis: Coming off a career-high four touches in Week 7, Sims was targeted just once in Dwayne Haskins' debut start. The rookie receiver has made some nifty plays as a runner, particularly his 65-yard touchdown in Week 5, but Sims is only averaging 5.0 yards per catch on nine receptions this season.
